The first ever nomination of Tom as an actor was very early in his career in the year 1984, he was nominated for the Best Actor category for the Comedy flick in which Tom was widely appreciated named the "Risky Business" in the very well-known awards which are rated as next to the Academy awards of Hollywood, The Golden Globe Awards.
Thereafter Tom Cruise was also nominated in a special category in the ShoWest Convention, USA awards function with the title Box Office Star of the Year. This was in the year 1987.
Tom then had a two year break in winning the awards for his achievements, but he was back in the year 1989. He was nominated at the Razzie Awards for his movie Cocktail which was released in the year 1988. Cruise was then nominated the next year for a leading Actor category in the year 1990, for the famous movie "Born on the Fourth of July" released in the year 1989. The same year he won the award at the Golden Globe, for the same category of the Leading Actor role, for the movie "Born on the Fourth Of July". He also won the People's Choice Award the same year, in the leading actor's category.
In the year 1993 Tom was nominated at the Golden Globe awards for the Best Actor in a leading Role, for one of his breakthrough performances "A few Good Men" which was a1992 release. He was nominated at the Mtv Movie Awards for three categories, Best Male Performance, for A Few Good Men, Best Desirable Male for the same movie and the Best On-Screen Duo for Far and Away shared with Nicole Kidman.
Hasty Pudding Theatricals, USA awarded him the title of the Man of the Year in the year 1994, for his greatest achievements in the Hollywood Industry. In 1994 he was also nominated for two categories in the MTV Movie Awards, for the same movie The Firm, Best Male Performance and Best Desirable Male. He won the title of favorite Dramatic Motion Picture Actor at the People's Choice Awards, USA in the year 1994.
In the year 1995 he was nominated in three categories at the MTV Movie Awards for The Best Desirable Male, Best Villain, and the Best On-Screen Duo, all for his movie Interview with the Vampires. He was also nominated for the same film in the leading role at the Saturn Awards.
In the year 1997 Tom received a lot of success after his nomination in the Academy Awards for the Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie released in 1996, Jerry Maguire a comedy flick. He won the award for the same title in the Golden Globe Awards in the same year. The same year the Blimp Award also nominated him for the Best Actor for the 1996 released Mission Impossible. In the year 1996 he won the award for Jerry Maguire at NBR Awards also.
In the year 1999, the NBR awarded him for the Best Acting title in Magnolia. In the year 2000, Tom was nominated again in the Academy Awards for the third time for the movie Magnolia, in the category of the Best Actor. He won this award at the Block buster entertainment Award for Magnolia and also received a nomination for Wyes Wide Shut. He also won the Golden Globe Award for the Best Actor in Magnolia in the year 2000.
After that he received many nominations in various awards but has not been able to win any. Though Tom has also been various times acknowledged for his drastic Production career and also awarded various times for the same.
